Research & Data Volunteer

Organization  Description

Smile Ministry is a newly established faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the profound mission of transforming lives by bestowing a “crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair” (Isaiah 61:3). This biblical citation forms the foundation of our work, guiding us to facilitate holistic healing and restoration for every individual we serve. We accomplish this mission by actively creating and maintaining healing spaces characterized by safety, empathy, and non-judgment, where genuine transformation can occur.

Our House of Prayers program is a life-changing, person-centered initiative committed to helping individuals currently experiencing homelessness (whom we respectfully refer to as clients) achieve and sustain their goal of permanent, stable housing by providing a life coach and connecting them to needed resources. Our approach is rooted in the belief that securing housing is only the first step in a broader journey toward holistic well-being and self-sufficiency. House of Prayers fosters an environment where every client feels unequivocally seen, heard, and valued. We recognize that housing insecurity often leads to trauma, isolation, and a profound sense of invisibility. Therefore, our life coaches provide a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where clients can decompress and reconnect with their inherent self.
