House of Prayers is a program that assists individuals experiencing homelessness (clients) in securing and maintaining permanent housing by first providing a space where they feel seen and heard, allowing them to take the lead on their holistic healing, and connecting them to the resources they need. House of Prayers creates a safe environment where people experiencing homelessness feel comfortable sharing their experiences, needs, and plans for stability(their prayers).
All clients are assigned a life coach. The priority of the life coach is to develop a connection and build trust with the client. The life coach will actively listen to understand the client’s values, needs, and aspirations and then collaboratively design a life plan. A life plan is a comprehensive document that outlines the client’s short-term and long-term personal goals and guides them to attain these specific, tangible results or end goals. The life coach will provide the client with guidance, support, and accountability, and, in the fullness of time, create a healing space for the client that reinforces wellness.
House of Prayers highly recommends a six-month commitment. At the end of that period, the life coach invites the client to reflect on their achievements and experience with the program and discuss the next steps. Throughout the program, we encourage the client to communicate openly with their life coach about what is going well and any concerns or support they may need to achieve their goals.
